Five main things that make destructive cult groups dangerous to their followers...

Essentially there are five main things that make destructive cult groups dangerous to their followers:

Here's one: These groups make the cost of leaving extremely high. It is associated with persecution, isolation, and/or failure; much more than just wasted time and effort on the part of the member. It will be the end; you will be isolated, cast into hell, a complete outcast, etc. It is always made to sound as if leaving is never an option.

Can you name any others?

I know first hand the enormous pain and suffering...

Dear Supporters,

I know first hand the enormous pain and suffering that family members go through when their loved one is manipulated and turned against them.

I know first hand the feeling of when your child is being abused and exploited by a cult group, be it physically, mentally, sexually, and/or financially and the horrible feeling of being powerless to do anything about it.

I know all too well the sleepless nights and agony I am still experiencing to this day from the death of my beloved daughter, brought upon by a wicked sociopathic cult leader I have yet to finally bring to justice.

Because of what I went through with my daughter Sharon, I decided to make it my life’s work to fight destructive high-control groups, save victims, reunite families and educate the public. Since 2013, our organization has helped save thousands of lives from destructive cult groups through direct interventions, education and awareness campaigns, by fighting cult groups with the help of law enforcement and legal support and much more.

Please help us to continue our work of ending the suffering of victims nationwide like children and the elderly, taking down deceptive, abusive and destructive groups and leaders (like the one that took my daughter) and reuniting families.

I cannot thank you enough for your support with our mission. May my daughter's passing bring light to others.

My son was pulled into a cult 8 years ago...

"I will be making a donation today and want to ask if I might be of service on college Campuses? My son was pulled into a cult 8 years ago and although I am lucky to once again have my son in my life he is not recovered from mind control-even after an intervention. I have learned so much about how to deal with my son and endour the heartache. I would be grateful to have the opportunity to spare other families the same heartache! Thank you for your work against destructive groups."

WE THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support and for wanting to help us in our mission to arm students and families with the information they need to realize the insidious cultic threat on their campuses before it's too late.

"Name of Group or Church: Guy Miller Ministries / Church of Life in Christ

Where: McKeesport, Pennsylvania

Leader(s): Guy Walter Miller

Complaint: Most, if not all of the congregation refer to Guy Miller as "Master."

There are special "bless the pastor" days where people are encouraged to give extra financial donations on top of their tithes, for the pastor to use however he chooses. The funds are then used to go on vacations, sometimes with the closest members of the clergy, or to buy new cars etc.

There is a strong focus on discipline. Spanking children is a frequent occurrence, usually done in private rooms.

The congregation is made to feel "less than" if they are not attending every service and church function. Most followers feel the need to get permission to miss services or functions.

As a member of the church, if you happen to associate with ex-members, you are highly frowned upon and made to feel unworthy and sinful.

Some followers are afraid to make any life decisions apart from Guy Miller's counsel.

There are several families that have been torn apart because of the teachings and beliefs being spread to the congregation."

ATTENTION: We are looking for more information about this church for our upcoming expose. Please let us know if you have a complaint about this group and/or its leader(s) and thank you to all those who have already submitted.

Getting fooled by a sociopath has nothing to do with intelligence...

By Donna Anderson at

Getting fooled by a sociopath has nothing to do with intelligence. I’ve heard from thousands of smart, successful people who were taken in by these predators. So how does it happen? Why can sociopaths get us to act against our own self-interest? Two reasons: Our humanity, and our cultural myths.

Trust makes us vulnerable…The human race survived as a species because of trust, according to Paul J. Zak, author of The Moral Molecule — the source of love and prosperity. Back when we were cave men and cave women, trust enabled us to live in groups, which enabled us to protect ourselves, which enabled our species to survive.

We are biologically programmed to trust — literally. A brain chemical called oxytocin, called nature’s “love glue,” makes us feel calm, trusting and content, and eliminates fear and anxiety. Oxytocin is released into our brains and bloodstream when we experience intimacy, and not just sexual intimacy. Hugs, empathy and even conversation cause our bodies to release oxytocin, increasing our level of trust for whomever we are interacting with. This is all normal and natural. It’s the human bonding system.

Sociopaths as hijackers… Sociopaths do not bond like the rest of us do. They have excess testosterone, which interferes with oxytocin. And they are missing the “oxytocin receptors” that are necessary for oxytocin to work. These issues help explain why sociopaths have no empathy.
Even though sociopaths do not feel empathy, they know that they can manipulate us by taking advantage of our empathy.

Therefore, sociopaths hijack the normal human bonding system. They engage us in conversation, they appear to be affectionate, they offer emotional and physical intimacy. Sociopaths use our humanity, our built-in predisposition to trust others, against us.

A CULT LEADER MANIPULATED TWO WOMEN into bearing him 12 children, then imprisoned, starved, beat and raped those children for years!

How could these two women, who called themselves "breeders" for Melford Warren, have been so brainwashed and manipulated that they allowed him to be so horribly abusive towards their own babies? The power of brainwashing and manipulation is just incredible.

Legally, should the mothers be considered accomplices or victims of Warren? A judge believed the latter. "For the women’s participation in the various crimes, they are being charged with misdemeanor child neglect."

Prabhupada said, “The dog likes to smell the vagina. You are like that. What is business of going another vagina? You require vagina. Take one and be satisfied. That is intelligence. First of all there is no need of vagina. But if you want, take one and be satisfied. Why you are searching after dog vagina?"

Carl Woodham, head guru and leader of the Krishna House, which operates on the campus of the University of Florida, seems to be teaching this to students in an effort to convert them to celibacy. That is of course if Woodham is a "bona fide guru" continuing the exact spiritual traditions and teachings of the founder of ISKCON, which according to the founder is a requirement.

Prabhupada said, “Five thousand years or five millions of years, what was spoken by the supreme God or guru, the present guru also will say the same thing. That is guru. That is bona fide guru. Otherwise, he’s not guru. Simple definition. Guru cannot change any word of the predecessor.”

We cannot believe that any self-respecting woman (or man for that matter) could follow the teachings of a guru who continually spouted "truths" such as these. Opinions? Please chime in.

The Cultural Gaps in a Cult Child’s Life

WHEN CHILDREN GROW UP IN HIGH-CONTROL GROUPS, they miss out on so much in life, especially culturally. An Interesting article about the The Cultural Gaps in a Cult Child’s Life...

"Growing up in the Children of God cult, I was not allowed to listen to music that was not produced by the group. We kids knew well the story of Jeremy Spencer, world-famous slide guitarist of Fleetwood Mac, who one night at a concert met some eccentric people backstage and left his band to join the Children of God. He never looked back. The Children of God attracted many young, talented musicians from the ’60s. Music, songs, and dancing were abundant and common. But any music produced outside of the group was forbidden and shunned."

Message From A Victim

Name of Cult Group or Church: Jehovah Witnesses

Message: "[The recruiters] became friends with my son at a time when he was without a job, had no car and was having to stay with his father or be homeless. He felt lost and desperate. They convinced him to go to and later join their church. They came to my home on several occasions, uninvited, and stayed for hours with their entire family in an attempt to convert my husband and I. They convinced my son to leave the area with them and move to Oregon where he would have little contact with us."

Unfortunately we hear this all too often at FACT. People usually become victims of cults when they are at a low or stressful point in life, and/or in a transitory period, like after losing a job or going through a divorce.

An article written in Psychology today explains:

More Families Complaining About The Hare Krishna ISKCON Recruitment Efforts on a College Campus

"Dear Mr. Stern,

It is an embarrassment to UF to have the Hare Krishna group on campus or in any way affiliated with the university or its students. This group is a destructive cult that needs to stay away from our kids. When we lasted visited UF with our daughter who is a high school student, I was horrified to see this group on campus recruiting kids, and if this group remains a part of UF, I will most notably send my daughter elsewhere and as far away from this destructive group as humanly possible.

If you are involved with a religious organization of any kind, please watch this video to learn some of the warning signs of a religious high-control / high-demand group. Perhaps you can see similarities within your group?

The information found within this 3 minute video could potentially save your life, or that of your loved ones.

"Name of Cult Group or Church: Jehovah's Witness
Where: Australia
Recruitment: I was born to parents who were JW's

Damaging Aspects: Ruined my life forever. No matter how many years pass, or how many miles I put between them, the damaging effects have pervaded all my decisions, all my emotions, all my reactions and all my ability to make the best of myself and those I care about.

What would you like others to know?: The constrictive methods of cutting people off from the outside world prevent you from being able to think or survive by yourself. This religion works with fear of ostracism from family and friends, fear of armageddon, fear of the outside world and fear of your own abilities to survive without them.

How do you feel now being out of the group? I am relieved and amazed that I got away. I feel sorry for my family and their offspring who are funneled into the same trap.

Additional: I'm sure there are people in this religion who find comfort and their place in that world. But they should not force their children into it because they need to be able to choose for themselves their own destiny. JW's stamp out choice. They make their own laws and children are open to abuse without any idea that there is help because they have no exposure to the outside world. I hope people realize that JW children especially cannot see TV or internet (censored programs) to know that there is someone they can talk to, and even if they knew, they would be too afraid. Perhaps school teachers who know JW children in their class should be educated to be especially aware if there is some abuse or if the child even just has doubts about the dogma."

FOR MORE INFORMATION as to why many experts and ex-members of the JWs classify this organization as a cultic high-control / high-demand group, please visit our special website page with all the information:

Children's lives destroyed from having the bad luck of being born into a cult. Listen to Lindsay Tornambe's story in this video to know the terrible suffering and destruction that many cults cause their victims.

She was one of 10 young girls born into the cult that were mentally and sexually abused by Victor Barnard, a Minnesota minister. You won't believe the shocking details of this story.

Revise the Tax Code to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse

Dear Supporters,

Please take a moment to review and sign a new petition asking President Obama to "Revise the Tax Code to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse".

The proposed Senate Bill has several key requirements that will seek to prevent tax exempt high-control groups (e.g. Scientology, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc.) from victimizing their members (especially helpless children), in addition to:

1) Prohibiting group leaders from coercing members
2) Prohibiting group leaders from promoting bigotry, prejudice, and inciting hatred and civil unrest
3) Requiring all tax-exempt organizations file annual returns that disclose how money is spent, including currently exempt religious organizations
4) Requiring that all annual returns are freely available through the internet.

Please get involved by signing the petition and contacting your members of Congress. For the next 30-days please like and/or share the links to the petition ( ) with family, friends, and social media connections.

Since child sexual abuse is a global problem, we encourage sharing the link with non-USA citizens when they are 13-years or older and have a valid email address. According to the "We the People" FAQ's there are no requirements that an individual must be a USA citizen to sign the petition.

Thank you for your support.

Dance Teacher Runs Child Dance Studio Like A Cult

We understand that sometimes we ask you to put your attention on and share terrible stories of adult and child abuses. As part of our mission we must spread this kind of news in hopes of raising awareness and educating people about these misdeeds. Please remember, you are not giving a "thumbs up like" to the 'dark content' for lack of a better term, you are supporting the spreading and exposure of it in an effort to protect future potential victims from undergoing the same terribly damaging abuses.

For example this story, "Parents of former students at the now defunct RG Dance Studio now admit [dance teacher] Davies ran the studio like a cult". "Grant Davies admitted to 28 child sex offenses, including one female student he raped seven times."

There are so many dance studios out there and it is probable that other dance teachers are taking advantage of their position to manipulate and exploit their young female students, so please share this information in an effort to prevent young students from falling victim.

Some of the warning flags to learn from this particular story:

"Davis always had to be the center of attention."

"He would "body shame" his young students and punish them if they missed classes for family functions, holidays or school."

"Davis told several of his victims that he loved them."

"Court documents reveal he indecently assaulted one student before text messaging her saying: "Hiii.Yayyy. That felt so special."

"But when one girl refused to reply to his messages, he began to pick on her in class in front of other students, telling her she was not "shining her light" and would not make it as a dancer."

"I didn't want to do the photos and videos but that's the only way I actually thought I would become professional dancer," one victim said in a statement."

At this point we have concluded our expose of the ISKCON organization, especially regarding its operation on the campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville. One family recently has already been destroyed by the on-campus recruitment / indoctrination of their son and we are asking UF how many more will it take before they will take notice and do something about it. We certainly will not stop until Carl Woodham / ISKCON have been completely banned from the UF campus to prevent any more victims and families from such needless pain and suffering.

We hope that the University of Florida will wake up and follow in the footsteps of the University of Arizona, who recently banned three on-campus groups because of “financial coercion, alienation from parents, shunning of those who leave the church or question its leaders” and more.

According to the complaints and evidence we’ve received, the same thing is happening at UF with ISKCON and yet they are still allowed to operate not only on the UF campus but on campuses all over the US and abroad. For whatever reason, they have been given permission to recruit “young westerners wholesale” as Carl Woodham once stated in one of his letters.

We at FACT will make sure at this point that our efforts will be addressed by the leadership of the University of Florida and other affiliated entities (like the Florida Department of Education and the U.S. Secretary of Education for examples), not to mention all relevant lawmakers in an effort to make sure that Carl Woodham / ISKCON will leave the campus of UF permanently.

We believe these religious high-control cultic groups have no right going after impressionable students and should be barred from any such activities to safeguard students from these insidious recruitment and indoctrination practices.

Thank you to everyone for your involvement and sharing of this expose. Please stay tuned for more exposes by FACT on currently active destructive cults operating in the U.S.

[name has been changed to protect the victim’s identity]:

Without telling us, for the group, Craig cashed in his gift trust account and changed his bank accounts. He gave up his car, health insurance, Visa, his family and friends, which has been very hard on us. We are going through a period of numbness and its hard to think with the emotional toll we are going through right now. The group purposely moved him away in fear that someone would try to deprogram him and as of now we have no idea as to his exact whereabouts, we only know he is somewhere in India completely dependent upon the ISKCON organization for survival.
They don’t want Craig to communicate with us in fear that he might wake up. He cannot go on the Internet or talk to former members of the group. Unfortunately the group like all cults needs to keep its members away from the support group, which is family and friends.

The group knows seeded down deep in Craig’s persona there is a loving caring family bond that is strong and good though because of the group, he will not associate with or spend any meaningful time with his family including attending a family wedding as he would be around non-devotees which the group is concerned that he might snap back.

Craig’s family is now the controlling ISKCON organization. He has given up his body, his soul, his mind for Krishna. He is a fanatic. And it’s not his fault.”

In our opinion Carl Woodham’s iSKCON activities on the University of Florida campus (Gainesville) causes only the destruction of families fraught with pain, suffering and loss, both now and for generations to come.

Saturday, September 26, 2015

We just discovered a shocking quote by Carl Woodham, the Secretary of the Board for the University of Florida Campus Multi-Faith Cooperative, where he states, “Although my parents had kindly offered me many good opportunities to establish a professional career, I kept finding "higher education" empty and unsatisfying.” This explains why Mr. Woodham never achieved more than a high-school diploma with his formal education, yet he is allowed to continually connect with and influence students at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

It is no wonder why a student named James [name has been changed to protect the victim’s identity], who happened to be a devotee of guru Carl Woodham, didn’t even bother to show up for his college graduation ceremony, leaving his family (who drove all the way up for the special event) completely broken-hearted by his absence How is it possible that Woodham is allowed to connect with and teach / influence young college students when he is obviously against higher education?

In our opinion the only reason his ISKCON chapter is operating on the campus of UF is to recruit the “young westerners wholesale” (as Carl once stated in a private email to a fellow guru). We believe ultimately there is no true educational benefit to students by keeping ISKCON / Carl Woodham on the campus of the University of Florida. On the contrary, their recruitment efforts on the campus pose a serious threat to the 50 thousand plus attending students and their families.

Carl Woodham

Starting as far back as the 70’s, there is ongoing proof of child abuse in one form or another connected with the ISKCON organization. In the year 2000, there was a $400 million dollar lawsuit filed against the ISKCON organization for the child abuse/rape of potentially more than one thousand innocent young kids. Plaintiffs' attorney Windle Turley called the abuse "the most unthinkable abuse and maltreatment of little children we have seen. It includes rape, sexual abuse, physical torture and emotional terror of children as young as 3 years of age.”

"Robin George contended that the Hare Krishna’s prey on minors, she was 14 at the time when she left her parents' Cypress home to join the Hare Krishna’s. At a civil trial later, jurors found that the Krishna’s had brainwashed her and kept her hidden from her frantic parents. They even found that her father's fatal heart attack was related to the stress from the months he spent searching in vain across the country for his daughter. The group was not protected by the Constitution for the emotional distress it caused in deceiving the parents by pretending not to know their daughter's whereabouts, the court held."

“Of course, for 5 and 6 year-olds, all that meditation, chanting and bowing seemed unbearable, particularly since they were ordered not to talk, fidget or slouch during the four-hour program. Only then would they be served breakfast — a cup of hot milk and cold oatmeal slapped on wax paper, to be eaten with the right hand only. Too often a cockroach found its way into the meal. The temple was infested with these "flying dates" since it was against the teachings to exterminate anything. "If milk spilled on the floor, you had to lick it up," Rittenour recalls. There was no such thing as leftovers; what you didn't eat at one meal, you were served at the next, or the next. "One time as a kid they forced me to eat some ginger root and I threw up. They made me lick the vomit off the floor."

It is not that the woman do not like rape. They like sometimes...

From the founder of ISKCON in his own words:

iskcon monster

Thursday, September 24, 2015

For all WOMEN, BLACK, GAY, JEWISH students (and anyone with a moral conscience) at the University of Florida Campus.

According to its very founder Swami Prabhupada, The Hare Krishna / ISKCON organization is undoubtedly a religion that advocates racism, bigotry, anti-Semitism, misogyny and the like. How is it that a religion advocating these terrible ideas is allowed to coexist within our education system and teach these corrupting ideas to impressionable students?

Just some examples of what the founder of ISKCON believed and taught followers:

“Swami Prabhupada spewed vitriolic racial hatred toward black/African people -- repeatedly and explicitly. Examples of his racial bigotry are numerous and frequently recorded in lectures and private conversations by his many devotees and disciples over the decades.”

“It is all [a] nonsense civilization,” he declared. “A first-class Rolls Royce car, and who is sitting there? A third-class Negro. This is going on. You will find these things in Europe and America. This is going on. A first-class car and a third-class Negro.”

“It is not that the woman do not like rape. They like sometimes. They willingly. That is the psychology. Outwardly they show some displeasure, but inwardly they do not. This is the psychology.”

“Now, in the Manu-samhita it is clearly stated that a woman should not be given freedom. That does not mean that women are to be kept as slaves, but they are like children.”

“It appears here that the homosexual appetite of males for each other is created in this episode of the creation of the demons by Brahma. In other words, the homosexual appetite of a man for another man is demoniac and is not for any sane male in the ordinary course of life.”

“They [Jewish bankers] were financing against [the interests of] Germany,” Prabhupada said. “Otherwise, he [Hitler] had no enmity [against] the Jews… The Jews have got money. They want to invest and get some profit. Their only interest is how to get money, [not] nationalism, [not] religion, nothing of the sort ... Therefore [William] Shakespeare wrote [of] ‘Shylock, the Jew.’”

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

The Hare Krishna / ISKCON organization teaches all devotees that the love of money is the root of all evil and strongly encourages devotees to give up this “material possession” so that ISKCON can make use of it to spread the word of Krishna to the lost souls of the world. Or at least that is what they claim; what they actually do with these funds it seems is a different matter entirely (according to the evidence uncovered from our investigation).

Case in point, the Chaplain of the University of Florida Krishna House / ISKCON of Gainesville, Carl Woodham, ordered last October a brand new extravagant swim spa for his private residence, according to a Notice of Commencement filed with the Building Division of Alachua County. The estimated cost of this spa we believe is around $20,000.

Kids everywhere are being recruited / indoctrinated into the ISKCON Hare Krishna group and, according to many ex-devotees, are being manipulated into believing that the material world is evil and to give away their possessions / savings to ISKCON. This of course forces them to be poor and live in the Krishna temples / boarding houses, further trapping them inside the organization by making them completely dependent. At the same time however, it seems that their gurus are free to live in private residences and buy swim spas (contrary to their preaching, they are pampering themselves).

Moreover, Woodham claimed once to Tibor Stern, the President of F.A.C.T., during a phone conversation that he earns a mere $1500 a month, just over the minimum wage rate in Florida. If so, how could he possibly afford to purchase a $20,000 swim spa?

Judge for yourself. We uncovered a lease agreement between the Alachua ISKCON temple (the property owner of a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house) and renters that states, “Elias Johannson [on behalf of ISKCON] will collect rent the first of every month in cash (preferably larger bills), to bring it to the Alachua ISKCON temple the next Sunday to the landlord.”

Needless to say this organization prefers to deal will cash, which of course is untraceable. On the campus of UF alone they sell around 1,000 meals a day at $5 each, none of which has to be reported to the IRS because they are classified as a “church”. According to, one of the largest non-profit information reporting services in the world, ISKCON declares $0 to the IRS (see image). Even though legally allowed to do this, contrary to their example there are many religious organizations with the same IRS tax-exempt filing status that still account for and report their income every year, which we believe is the earmark of any trustworthy organization who is making sure to be honest and transparent.

We will put all our effort and forces together with different organizations to change this terrible law. All religious organizations that receive funds from the public should be completely transparent in our opinion, and certainly not requiring payments in cash, “preferably in large bills”.

A Conversation Between Tibor Stern, President of F.A.C.T. and Carl Woodham, the leader of the ISKCON chapter that operates on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville.

At the beginning of 2015, a complaint came in to F.A.C.T. from the parents of James, a student attending UF at the time. His parents said that they experienced the outcome of the brainwashing of their son, who was recruited on campus by the Krishna House (ISKCON) organization led by Carl Woodham.

Their son’s behavior during this time grew more and more unusual and erratic which was not at all typical for James, especially regarding the growing disconnection from his family. James became very absent-minded when it came to connecting with his family and the huge love and compassion that was once an integral part of this hard working, honest, great all American Christian family unit had all but vanished from the side of their son.

Like his parents’ lives, James’s life was completely turned upside-down since he joined Woodham’s Krishna House. He stopped eating his normal diet (becoming vegan virtually overnight), was chanting and meditating many hours every day, was out selling books and preaching the word of Krishna constantly and his educational experience sadly ended with him not even attending his own graduation (which his parents drove all the way up to UF to attend). His family had been waiting for this day for a long time, a day that should have been one of the most happiest and important experiences between parents and their child, which was ruined because of this cult’s influence.

Upon meeting the parents at the F.A.C.T. offices and hearing their story, TIbor Stern made a phone call to Carl Woodham, a common practice for him to always try and resolve things peacefully / get to the bottom of the situation. In the beginning it was a pleasant conversation between Tibor and Woodham, up until the issue of why James’ prior loving affectionate family relationship all of a sudden changed for the worst, to which all Woodham could answer was that James was “afraid of his father”.

This is something Tibor had heard over and over, which is so typical for the predatory cult leaders to always blame the parents for the drastic changes occurring in the victim. It is a method turning the cult members against their families as a way to exert high-control over the victims. Mr. Stern knows James’ parents and wishes every child in the world to have parents like his.

His question to Woodham is if he considers himself to be an educator, why didn’t he pick up the phone himself to try and make peace between James and his family? Tibor Stern’s answer to that is that it is not Woodham’s agenda, which his email enclosed here-by will prove. Recruiting westerner “wholesale” (please see the evidence attached).

Mr. Woodham, what is wrong with every other religion that preaches peace and love for families? James claims that he is extremely happy with his new life, which Tibor experienced with his daughter when he confronted her evil deceiving guru that was her “teacher”, only to find out two weeks later that she was dead.

Mr. Woodham, we believe that your manipulation and exploitation is nothing but a destruction that the only one who benefits is you and your Hare Krishna organization. In the process, the life of James’s beautiful parents has been destroyed. We feel their pain and misery to lose a child and not to know his whereabouts. Of course Mr. Woodham you don’t feel that pain, you are enjoying your wife, your family, your new spa, while James is running around selling books and meals for Krishna telling everyone that he is “volunteering” so it cannot be called slave labor.

Mr. Woodham you were so proud to tell Tibor that James is celibate, but don’t you believe that he deserves to fall in love, have a family, have a career he loves and is proud of, etc. Mr. Woodham, you are no saint in our eyes. You are not building relationships of love, prosperity, and all things positive; we believe you are destroying them.

To be continued…

Followup from Yesterday

This is a follow-up to yesterday's posting where Tibor Stern, the President of F.A.C.T., spoke to Carl Woodham as a father. He tried to make sense to Woodham about family values, family strength, the importance of family coming before any religion. in a way a family is its own "religion" that is sacred and more important than any other beliefs or practices that one choses for their life. In other words, any belief and/or practice of a religion should never come between family and compromise the family unit. It should never tear a family apart (as in the case with James), only make it stronger.

We will continue our quest for change under Families Against Cult Teachings, Inc. (F.A.C.T.)

Dear Families and Supporters of F.A.C.T.,

I am writing to you today not as the president of F.A.C.T but as a father who knows the endless suffering of losing a child. There is a never ending trail of where I see my daughter missing; a painful void that can never be filled, which is something I wish no family to ever experience. Unfortunately however, our organization gets contacted over and over by parents who are losing their kids to high-control cult groups acting on college campuses everywhere just like on the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Before James [name has been changed to protect his identity] attended UF, he was part of a very happy, loving and close-knit family. While there, he was recruited by the Hare Krishna (ISKCON) organization headed by chaplain Carl Woodham, we believe whose corrupt influence and agenda has completely destroyed James’s past loving relationship with his family. They don’t speak anymore and they don’t even know their child’s whereabouts. Woodham claims that the reason James disconnected from his family was because he was scared of his father, which is so typical for all these deceiving and manipulating cult leaders.

Before my daughter met her evil teacher Katsura Kan (at the University of Naropa in Boulder, CO), we had the best relationship imaginable between parent and child: completely loving, caring and based on mutual trust and respect. But once she became exposed to Katsura’s influence and manipulation, suddenly I became the worst father imaginable. Such is the story with James’s family. Once James was exposed to Carl Woodham’s influence and manipulation, suddenly James’s father became the worst imaginable human being.

All these gurus have one thing in common: they turn their victims against their families and friends in order to isolate them for control and exploitation purposes, whether it be sexual, financial, slave labor, etc. Victims will start questioning and second-guessing all that they knew to be true to the point where they lose their critical thinking skills and identities. This makes them totally confused while the cult leader / group encourages them that it is all normal and part of the process towards enlightenment. This is what happened to my daughter in the past and it’s happening now with James. It must be stopped.

These sociopathic, narcissistic, self-serving high-control group leaders have no concern for the damage they cause and no boundaries when it comes to achieving their goals. Certainly they should be nowhere near our campuses going after vulnerable, impressionable youths. I sent my daughter away to a school where she should have been completely safe and instead she came back home in a casket. In the case of James, it seems he has become a part of the ISKCON slave labor force (which earns them millions in revenue every year), even though the Krishna gurus call them “volunteers”. What about James’s future? Apparently, that is not Carl Woodham’s concern as long as he can have a state of the art spa built into his home while James and like followers are encouraged not to live a materialistic existence.

When Carl Woodham makes statements in his emails like “…the young Westerners we are shedding blood to attract to Krishna” or “…we are finally having some success reaching young Westerners wholesale” and then we see parents’ losing their kids “wholesale” to cults all over college campuses, well it is not hard to put 2 + 2 together and know what is going on.

To all parents living in Florida, this is my University and your University as taxpayers and we should not sit idly by as our kids are being recruited on this campus and taken from us. Enough is enough. Please help stop this destruction by sharing this information to educate and protect other innocent students and families from being harmed.

Thank you,

Tibor Stern

Dear Mr. Stern,

It has come to my attention that the Hare Krishna faction has been permitted to actively recruit on the UF campus. I am appalled at the fact that campus administration would allow a manipulative cult to dictate the future of our children. Young students look to teachers and faculty to influence who they aspire to be and as parents we demand good role models. What message is the University of Florida sending by allowing a destructive group such as the Hare Krishna to corrupt the minds of our youth. (Civium in moribus rei publicae salus).

How would you feel if you sent your beloved child away to college and a religious group on campus there recruited, indoctrinated and convinced your child to turn completely against you?

This is exactly what happened recently to a student attending the University of Florida in Gainesville. A religious group there by the name of ISKCON, a.k.a. the Krishna House, is being led by Carl Woodham and are doing whatever they can to try and recruit students into their organization. They pass out informative flyers, offer an on campus inexpensive lunch, promote introductory lectures / programs and anything else they can do to introduce their organization to impressionable students— all with one real intention: recruitment.

Because of the Krisha House’s influence, the parents not only missed out on their own child’s graduation from UF (which was a very sad day for them that will linger in their memory forever), but worse, as of now they currently do not even know his whereabouts (yet suspect he is somewhere in India obviously under the direction and control of ISKCON).

In our opinion and as per some evidence which will be published tomorrow, Carl Woodham’s Krishna House at UF has succeeded completely in turning their once caring son against his loving parents, who needless to say are absolutely heartbroken. They want nothing more than to be able to relate with their son again they way they always used to, which is just not possible any longer due to the isolating grip of ISKCON.

We are going to notify Dr. W. Kent Fuchs, the President of UF and the Board of Trustees, in addition to all relevant lawmakers in an effort to stop what we believe are high-control groups from operating on school grounds where vulnerable and impressionable young students are easily accessible to them.

Please help support our mission to expose and eradicate these groups from college campuses everywhere by sharing our expose with everyone you know, but especially parents and students.
Tomorrow's posting will include the President of F.A.C.T., Tibor Stern's phone conversation with Carl Woodham and also what we believe is hard evidence of Woodham’s recruitment efforts of vulnerable students to the Hare Krishna / ISKCON organization.

Our organization has received numerous complaints about the UF Krishna House recruiting students daily on the UF campus. This group is being led by Carl Woodham and has strong ties to the much larger corrupt Hare Krishna ISKCON organization. As of now, one recently graduated student of UF is missing with his whereabouts currently unknown by his family and many others are in jeopardy merely by associating themselves with this organization; one that has a long history of targeting the youth of our society to recruit, exploit and abuse them, all in the name of “enlightenment”.

Our organization uncovered private internal communications written by Carl Woodham to another fellow Guru within the ISKCON organization; letters that clearly state the true intention of Krishna House’s focused recruitment efforts on the UF campus. In the next coming days we will release all the evidence clearly supporting the above stated facts.

Tomorrow we will show the destruction of families by ISKCON’s activities led by Carl Woodham on the UF campus.

Catholic Church Branches Operating Like a Cult

The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.

"I was in various ashrams in ISKCON for a few years, and I have found that present day ISKCON is not like the ISKCON Srila Prabhupada left us with and today's ISKCON is maybe even dangerous to some of us. I was in one particular ashram for two years and they tried to segregate me from seeing any of my family and treated me like a work horse, wouldn't give me enough sleep, would always criticize me and made me feel worthless.

They hardly ever complimented me in the end or thanked me, then I literally had a metal breakdown and they kicked me out from the ashram…"

According to this victim, Nicole Grace (and Scott Wilson) have created their own group that appears to be following in the same destructive footsteps as Lenz.

A.K.A. "Satori Sciences, "Mystery School", "Extreme Buddhism"

“It happens so slowly: Slowly you surround yourself with the new teacher, the new group of students. Slowly you distance yourself from your old friends and family. They don’t “get” you, anyway. Slowly your life becomes filled with the new teacher and the new group. Slowly, but surely, all the old things that made you “you” get dropped from your life. In your excited attempt to grow and try new things, you allow all your old favorite friends and activities to fade away. Before you know it, the group is your whole life. No one outside of it understands. And then the teacher starts showing you your “ego”. The ways you need to “change”. Slowly, but surely, s/he points out all your flaws. “Only a true Teacher will be this honest.” The flaws get pointed out one by one…the self-doubt starts to set in. Next comes “the occult”…or some sort of dark force…maybe “the devil”. Anytime your intuition tells you to run, get away from the teacher, get away from the group…you get told it is “occult forces” trying to “knock you off the path” or “make you fall.” You start to see everyone outside the group as the enemy. Friends and family become the enemy. You believe “they want to knock you off the path”. “They don’t understand”. By this point your entire foundation is gone, your entire sense of self is gone, your intuition is gone, your life is gone…and you cling desperately to the only thing you now trust: your guru.”

A local news station in Tucson, Arizona reported about a potential cultic group that was banned from operating on the University of Arizona campus. It's the sad story of the Kluge family reaching out to their son who was recruited on campus, and who has now cut all ties with his family and friends, dropped his career and left his home state to start a new church for this group in Colorado.

Must watch video. Please share and spread the word.

So after enter into Hare Krishna movement...

"So after enter into Hare Krishna movement, one understands that 'He's my false father.' So if he gives up the relationship, that means he's successful." - Prabhupada (Founder of Iskcon)

The Hare Krishnas / Iskcon have been on our radar since the inception of our organization. We've received numerous complaints about them in the past, not to mention, allegations of abuse of all kinds by this organization (rape, sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional terror, etc.) are widespread on the internet, available for anyone to find via simple Google searches.

Then this new allegation came in from the parents of a student at University of Florida, accusing the Krishna House of brainwashing, manipulating, and exploiting their son, and after hearing their story and reviewing their evidence we immediately decided to conduct a fact-finding on this very serious matter.

Initially we had posted across our social media / blog about what had transpired with their son and the ISKCON group (in an effort to educate and generate public awareness), but soon after posting everything we were asked by the group to take it all down. We agreed only if it would open up the channel of communication between our organizations, which it did, but only for a short amount of time as you will see.

Carl Woodham, the Chaplain of the Krishna House, invited Tibor Stern, the president of F.A.C.T. to meet with him in Gainesville at his office to discuss the allegation, with Mr. Stern willing to drive from South Florida all the way there at his own expense. Unfortunately Carl canceled the appointment (without good reason mentioning something about his Board of Directors' disapproval), but then said he could speak over the phone about it. (Please note that Carl Woodham is listed on the UF website as the Secretary of the Executive Board for the UF Campus Multi-Faith Cooperative.)

Mr. Stern called him and started discussing the issue with him very peacefully and intelligently, without any argumentative tone whatsoever, asking important questions like:

1) Why are the youngsters who are entering into his Krishna House / ISKCON turning their backs on their families, friends, and society? Carl did not have any answer for this.

2) When Mr. Stern started asking about the Krishna House recruitment practices, especially regarding Carl's statement "…we are finally having some success reaching young Westerners wholesale" (see attachment), Carl couldn't handle the conversation any longer and abruptly hung up the phone on Mr. Stern.

All future attempts to contact Carl have gone unanswered. He appears to be trying to evade any more uncomfortable conversations. Please know that once we conclude our thorough fact-finding work we will address all of our questions and concerns to the President of UF, the UF Board of Trustees, the Florida Secretary of Education and the Chairman of the Florida Department of Education.

More coming tomorrow. Stay tuned...

A very painful experience...

We received a complaint from the parents of a student at the University of Florida about Carl Woodham, the Chaplain of the Krishna House that operates adjacent to the UF campus. Woodham is also listed on the UF website as the secretary of the executive board for the Campus Multi-Faith Cooperative at UF. At this point we will not release the complaint in detail as we are in the process of thoroughly checking out Mr. Woodham and the serious allegation against him.

As per our discussion with the parents and the evidence provided, they believe that their son was brainwashed by the Krishna House group and they also believe that he was influenced by the group not to show up at his own graduation ceremony. When the parents arrived they found out their son was a no show, without any forewarning, which was a very painful experience for them as you can imagine. Also, their son is still gone to this day and they do not know his exact whereabouts.

We will be notifying the University of Florida and the hard working tax-paying parents of the state of Florida via the media about this to try and prevent it from happening again to loving parents who send their children to universities for higher education only to have them disconnect themselves from family and not come back to them.

Lastly, the Krishna House organization sells lunches on campus to students, which we believe is for the purpose of student recruitment. Please find attached some evidence of “wholesale” recruitment as per Carl’s own admission in a letter written by him (Kalakantha) to his Swami Bhakti Vikasa. Please judge for yourself.
More coming on Carl Woodham, Hare Krishna / Iskcon, and the University of Florida. Stay tuned…

Dangerous C-U-L-T on UF campus

It has come to our attention by parents of students who attend or have attended the University of Florida in Gainesville that a group on campus and affiliated with the university is harming kids.

The name of the group is Iskcon-International Society of Krishna Consciousness-Hare Krishna, operating under the guise of Krishna Lunch and Krishna House devotees (“The group”).

We have heard from parents that their kids are being trapped in a never-ending cycle of HAZING and ABUSE. Furthermore, the kids who have always had close personal relationships with their parents, families and friends are now finding excuses at all times to distance themselves from their parents, families and friends including all holidays and school breaks.

The group first uses deceptive and manipulative cultic ploys as expert recruiters to recruit people to join the group while not being transparent about their organization or message.

The parents are hearing from their kids the wildest thoughts and beliefs. The kids now have exotic discriminatory thoughts and beliefs that never existed before the affiliation with the group.

The group will give ambiguous explanations for the most complex things in life. These deceptive teachings are all part of the group’s totalitarian worldview, indoctrination and continuous mind control methods and techniques.

The group will condition the student to think everyone (“Karmis”) and everything material (“Maya”) outside the group is bad, and everyone and everything inside the group including their teachings, beliefs and message are all good.

It has been explained that the kids have reduced their critical thinking ability and the group has all but gained control of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This also includes financially, physically and psychologically damaged through the use of mind control techniques such as sleep deprivation, insulated information, hours of chanting, hypnotic mantra meditation, isolation, hazing, information control, disengagement, continuous service, slave labor and total dependency on the group.

The kids truly do not know anything has happened to them. Unbeknownst to them once snapped they think this is their destiny in life -hook, line and sinker, be a Hare Krishna Devotee. To get out of the material world instead of being in the real world. You will hear them say “I am happy”. Of course in reality, they are suffering unhappily from thought reform, mind control and brainwashing with terrible stress and anxiety issues to follow.

One parent described it as the student being in a robotic hypnotic trance like state. Another parent described it as the student having no ability to rationalize or reason on any important life event or plan.

The hypnotic mantra gives you a nice high feeling to act as a painless inducement against modern day living. This takes you away from the realities of this world, all under the guise of transcendental spirituality.

The group has taken upon themselves to strongly manage the non-group information that their members are allowed to hear or see.

Tight information control over the outside world from TV, radio, newspapers, books, publications, media is strictly prohibited so to keep the group members from thinking critically, rationally on what’s happening in the world or questioning the group’s beliefs or see any of their criminal headlines and past history of admitted child abuse, extortion, fraud, murder or any ex-member’s frightful stories.

Instead, they strictly emphasize their own agenda, teachings through excessive long-term use of chanting and hypnotic mantra meditation sessions to get in a “no thought” state. The group uses confusing terms, jargon and language to control their follower’s minds and strengthen the group’s belief system. Repeated scriptures are mentioned during the meditation sessions to embed the information into the brain when in the no thought state.

They are asked never to question the leader/guru as the leader/guru is always right. No matter what is wrong, it’s a message from Krishna, go chant.

In keeping with their totalitarian view that promotes the goals of the group over the individual, the group embodies the totalitarian worldview by claiming an exclusive relationship with God controlling virtually every aspect of their members’ time and lives. As part of totalitarian control, the group often approves any unethical behavior through deception and brainwashing in order to foster the group’s beliefs. The group offers explanations to everything in life.

The group enforces total isolation from family, friends and society in general and emphasizes total dependency on the group. Group members are generally forced to cut ties with family and friends and replace them with their new "family." In addition to physical isolation, group members also become disconnected from their previous lives, values and beliefs.

The group believes they are an elite and secretive group that is expected to recruit and fundraise selling their books with hidden objectives and limited disclosure to protect their sacred mission. They use whatever methods are available to do this including deception, deceit and lies.

This continuous hazing, exploitation, fear, mental anguish, and intimidation deliberately and systematically inflict extreme long-term mental torture on the kids, who now are being described as radical and fanatical.

There are terrible concerns over the physiological damage being done through this continuous cult indoctrination and the long-term destruction felt by these kids. They will need the required cult counseling to let these kids know exactly what happened to them and how they will systematically tricked. Only then can be treated for PTSD and heal so they are not lost forever.

University of Arizona Investigating On Campus Religious Group

This article provides an excellent understanding of what is going on at many universities around the nation.

Click here to read the full article.

Important quotes:

"The Arizona Daily Star interviewed 21 former employees and church members — most of them UA alumni — and nine of their parents. Their stories include reports of hitting infants with cardboard tubes to encourage submission, financial coercion, alienation from parents, public shaming of members and shunning of those who leave the church or question its leaders. Some say that since leaving, they've spent years in therapy for panic attacks, depression, flashbacks and other symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder."

"Moore says his self-esteem hit rock bottom after he joined Faith Christian in 2000 at age 17. Church leaders' criticism and authoritarianism caused him near-constant anxiety during his five years as a member, he says."

"They get their members to believe that any questioning, any scrutiny, it's the devil," she says. "I want to get my son out of there. I want to do whatever I can to prevent other families from letting their children get in a situation like this."

"Faith Christian is open about its goal of converting college-age youth, asserting in a 2012 YouTube video that "19 out of 20 people who become Christians do so before the age of 25."

"The UA wasn't previously aware of what the Star's investigation found, Vito says. It doesn't monitor groups for signs of trouble, but relies on formal complaints related to current students. Former Faith Christian members say the way the church operates makes that difficult because the church often tightens its grip after students graduate."

"You don't know yourself at the end," says Alfred, who left in 2009 after nine years. "You don't know you're in a cult until you leave. Pretty soon, you're at the point where you can't make any decisions."

F.A.C.T. Sheds Light On Cults In Universities Families Against Cult Teachings (F.A.C.T.) has launched a new initiative to help raise awareness among educators, counselors, parents and students on the misleading tactics cults use to recruit young minds. Miami, FL, 6 April 2015 — Tibor Stern established F.A.C.T. to raise awareness of the increasing number of cults on college campuses after he and his wife Hana lost their daughter to suicide. As reported by the Miami Herald ( and other news organizations, the Sterns claim the tragedy of their daughter was the result of an abusive relationship with her dance instructor at Naropa University. A lawsuit filed by the Sterns alleges that this dance instructor manipulated their daughter using mind control techniques while plying her with mind bending drugs to become his personal and sexual slave. Sharon Stern, lovingly called Sharoni by her family, graduated from the University of Miami and later, Sharon enrolled in the master of fine arts program at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. Naropa is where she was introduced to Butoh, also known as the “dance of darkness.” Butoh was being taught by Katsura Kan, a Japanese citizen and guest teacher at the Naropa University. Following Sharon’s degree from Naropa, she stayed with Kan as an assistant, and subsequently committed suicide. Later, Tibor, Sharon’s father, created the non-profit Families Against Cult Teachings to raise awareness and try to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again. Another story investigated by the Arizona Daily Star (, reported the existence of a cult that has operated on the University of Arizona campus for the last 25 years. Reports from former members of Faith Christian Church, the cult accused of operating on UA campus, include stories “of hitting infants with cardboard tubes to encourage submission, financial coercion, alienation from parents, public shaming of members and shunning of those who leave the church or question its leaders.”
“Anytime a group or even an individual is coercing someone away from family and friends, chances are they’re being controlled by that organization or individual.” said Mr. Allen (a volunteer spokesperson for F.A.C.T.)

Also, as TV host Bill Maher pointed out ( these cults can include fraternities as well.” stated Mr. Allen. Mr. Allen added that “The rise of cults on campus is the impetus of this campaign and aptly named Cults On Campus. We want to keep kids out of the clutches of these narcissistic persons and mind controlling organizations. We are doing this by educating college faculty and students on the techniques used by these insidious individuals to recruit vulnerable young minds into their secret lairs.” F.A.C.T. is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about cults and their recruiting methods that are prevalent on campuses across America.

Waiting for their response...

We wrote a letter to the Daily Camera in Boulder, CO, asking the writer to make the proper corrections to their article which left out many important facts, especially regarding Naropa's claim that Sharon had nothing to do with the university after her graduation in 2009.

An excerpt: "If there actually was an internal investigation done at Naropa University, I find it very hard to believe that they would not have uncovered internal emails such as the ones attached (a simple keyword search for Sharon's name and/or Kan's should have revealed them).

Please find attached a file that shows an email correspondence between Sharon and Mr. Beaver (the head of the Naropa Art Department) in 2010, where he offers Sharon a job as Katsura Kan's TA. Also, she organized a Butoh festival in 2011 at Naropa with the school's approval and support. So there was obviously a connection with Sharon, Katsura, and Naropa after her 2009 graduation, which I believe is very important to state since it directly contradicts, in the form of hard evidence, what Mr. Lief stated.

Also, please find attached my detailed response to Mr. Lief, in addition to more evidence contradicting Mr. Lief's claims. I am also attaching evidence for you to review about Naropa's illicit history (since their inception until recently), Kan's destructive manipulation of another student, and more."

We are awaiting their response.

Tibor Stern's Response to the Daily Camera and President Mr. Lief of Naropa

Tibor Stern on behalf of the Sharoni Stern Estate to the article written in the Daily Camera.

Please Note: Everything you will read from here on is strictly from my personal beliefs and opinions, based upon my experience throughout this ordeal and as per the evidence in my possession.

As you can see from the article in the Daily Camera, Naropa seems to blame everyone except themselves, which is so typical of them as their history reflects. The simple fact is Naropa hired this evil “guru” (and I believe negligently). Katsura Kan has a long history of sexual and financial exploitation with many of his female students, as the evidence shows. I believe if Naropa really wanted to change their practices that they have had plenty of chances since their inception in the 70s until now to do so. Instead, I believe their desire for accreditation as a university stopped them from doing the right thing and revealing the truth about what was going on there for so many years.

After reviewing all of the Sharoni Stern Estate’s evidence against Katsura Kan and also the facts regarding what transpired at Naropa, I think they must be blind or in total denial. I of course have never heard of a person who is accused of something this bad to admit their wrongdoing; it is always easier and safer to try and pass the blame onto others, in this case, the students, parents, etc. Naropa is trying to claim that because the death of my daughter happened after her graduation from their institution then they are blameless. I believe the real question that they should ask themselves is how such a healthy, genuinely happy, utterly family oriented student could become so manipulated and brainwashed during her time at Naropa from 2007 - 2009, which caused her to completely shun her entire family and commit suicide soon thereafter. Also, for the record, Sharon was actually offered an unpaid position by Mr. Beaver, the head of the Art Department of Naropa, in 2010 as Katsura Kan’s Teaching Assistant (see email evidence via the link below). Also, in 2011 there was the first ever Naropa sponsored Butoh festival on campus that Sharoni was the head organizer of, which could only have happened with Naropa’s approval and participation. Therefore, the claim that there was no connection between Naropa and Sharon after her graduation in 2009 is obviously incorrect. I suggest for the president of Naropa, Mr. Lief, to check the facts of his ‘internal investigation’, and to please call Sarah Kuta of the Daily Camera with all the facts that you failed to mention to her.

As alluded to just now, unfortunately the Daily Camera failed to mention in their article some very important things, for example, what happened to my daughter was not a single isolated case, as this has happened in the past multiple times at Naropa with various students and faculty; a pattern in my opinion of improper behavior on the part of Naropa faculty that the institution continually tries to cover up and defend for obvious reasons. Many students have claimed the same about Naropa faculty that we have had correspondence with, and sadly it seems this has been going on since the very beginning of this school. I for one refuse that my own tax dollars be given to Naropa as a federal grant or otherwise. Mr. Lief, my daughter is dead! as a result of your teacher’s destruction of her body and mind. According to the evidence in my possession, I believe Katsura used his position as teacher to exert undue influence upon students (like my daughter), in order to exploit them as he wished. And once he had control of Sharon, he did not let go (even when I pleaded with him to do so at the time), so pre or post gradation as you can see does not matter. The damage was done while she attended Naropa, and extended past her graduation until her untimely death. Mr. Lief, as a father I am asking you, how can you justify the hiring of an evil teacher like Katsura Kan, and then continue to try and blame everyone else besides the teacher that your university hired? And just for the record, my lawyer asked Naropa for compensation as an act of utter frustration, because of Naropa’s absolute disregard and absent communication with my family as a result of our daughter’s death. At the same time, I want everyone to know that Katsura Kan has offered our family $1000 as compensation for the death of my daughter. If he is innocent then why offer anything at all? Also, this shows his sociopathic nature and lack of compassion as a person by offering so little, as in Kan’s eyes my daughter’s life was worth a mere $1000, which is just absolutely insulting.

As I have mentioned earlier, Naropa has had their fair share of scandals since their inception, which started with the disgusting exploitation of attending students by Chögyam Trungpa- the known alcoholic and drug addict who as I read was the founder of Naropa. I believe nothing was done by Naropa to address the sexual abuse in Snowmass of two famous poets by Trungpa, nor for the rampant sexual exploitation of his students. Also, they did nothing to reprimand the misbehavior of the famous poet Allen Ginsberg who had a heavy drug use problem and who was also sexually involved with his students, both of which Ginsberg openly admitted. In addition, when Osel Tendzin took over the helm of Naropa leadership, he freely had sex with students while knowing full well that he had HIV, and from what I have read he even went so far as to claim to students that having sex with them would cure him. As one student reported at the time, “I was very distressed that he and his entourage had lied to us for so long, always saying he did not have AIDS. I was even more distressed over the stories of how the Regent used his position as a dharma teacher to induce "straight" students to have unprotected sex with him, while he claimed he had been tested for AIDS but the result was negative.” In the end, as a result one of the students later died of AIDS. To my knowledge I believe that no action was taken against him for his deception, manipulation, and crimes against humanity. On the contrary, Trungpa, who was the president of Naropa at the time, “had requested him [Tendzin] to be tested for HIV in the early 1980s and told him to keep quiet about the positive result. Tendzin had asked Trungpa what he should do if students wanted to have sex with him, and Trungpa's reply was that as long as he did his Vajrayana purification practices, it did not matter, because they would not get the disease. Tendzin's answer, in short, was that he had obeyed the guru.”

All this information is from published books, online articles like on wikipedia, documented evidence, etc. Also, Katsura Kan’s teachings and misbehavior are documented by a great many emails to my daughter, and nine well detailed journals handwritten by my daughter, all pointing to her demise. If Naropa truly believes that it is acceptable for one of their faculty members to take a student (my daughter) to a heavily drug infested area like Christiana, Copenhagen (where the police there even stay out of), or to urge her to steal money from her family, or to teach of the destruction of body, mind, ego identity, authenticity of self and separation from family; if they believe that they should defend that kind of teacher then I don’t know what to say, other than I cannot wait to reveal all the evidence in my possession showing undeniably how their teacher caused the death of my daughter. I welcome their threat of a lawsuit against the Sharoni Stern Estate, and I also reserve the right to file a complaint against Naropa from the her Estate in the future. I believe additional stories, other than what I have received already from ex-students and victims, will surface at the discovery process that resemble our tragedy. From my perspective and in my opinion, I am not seeing any effort on the part of Naropa to implement any changes to protect students from abusive teachers.

By the way, any and all money that the Sharon Stern Estate would collect in the future would be donated entirely to FACT for the purpose of saving future victims of Katsura Kan like abuses, not to mention making sure that any accredited U.S. university will not be allowed to negligently hire any teacher of this kind. We will promote, expose, and bring all the information to the public, always. The truth is always defendable with supporting evidence, which we have a great deal of. If you would like to read more about Naropa’s illicit history, mistreatment and exploitation of students, etc., please Google for yourself, visit Wikipedia, etc., as this information is well published all over the place online. Or if you prefer, you can just visit our website article to read all about it and find relevant links on the subject. Also, from the attached files you can see some of the remarks and input from current and past students, and also various articles supporting the truth about Naropa, and more.

As far as Naropa is concerned, I believe their pattern of behavior speaks for itself, which was already well documented prior to the death of my daughter. I believe if Naropa will not implement the much needed changes, they will have to sue a lot of individuals, entities, and media outlets in an ongoing effort of damage control (especially if history is any indication of the future, which I believe it is).

Finally, I would like to challenge the President of Naropa to answer these valid questions:

1) How does he feel about all the prior abuses of their students by faculty?

2) Does he recognize Katsura Kan’s wrongdoing?

3) Do all of those who have been abused by Naropa faculty deserve an apology (at the very least)?

4) Does he plan to implement any changes in Naropa so this type of behavior will never be repeated?

I look forward to hearing his answers, which I promise to publish.

Please find just some of the evidence we have in our possession via this link, that supports my response.

As I always say, those who fail to confront evil are empowering them.

Thank you,

Tibor Stern (on behalf of the Sharoni Stern Estate)
President of Families Against Cult Teachings, Inc.

Naropa denies blame for alumna's suicide

The tragic story of Sharon Stern was printed in the Daily Camera recently, which includes a response from the President of Naropa University, Mr. Lief, who does not seem to have his facts correct according to Mr. Stern (on behalf of the Sharoni Stern Estate). Rather, in Mr. Stern’s opinion, Mr. Lief seems to be giving generic responses that fall short of the truth when compared to the hard evidence.

For those who do not know, Naropa University is where Sharon Stern first met the wicked Katsura Kan, who was actually one of her teachers there, and who as the evidence shows took advantage of his position to manipulate and brainwash her (and other students) so that he could continually exploit her for years, both during her time there and afterward.

Mr. Stern will be replying in great detail to the Daily Camera article tomorrow. In the meantime, you can read it by clicking HERE.

It's Time to Report Cults to the IRS

If you’ve ever left a cult, you quickly realize that most people don’t understand what you’ve gone through unless they’ve been through it themselves. Getting law enforcement officials to understand the harassment you’ve likely experienced seems almost impossible.

However, there is something you can do. It’s called the IRS Complaint Form 13909. What this form does is allow you to tell the IRS about the abuses of tax-exempt organizations without worry about being subject to retaliation.

Most cults have IRS tax-exempt status. Unfortunately, the IRS is unaware how these organizations can inflict deep psychological wounds on unsuspecting victims. The IRS also doesn’t know how many of these cults use threats to intimidate and control people through fear. This is one the reasons many of these abuses go unreported.

However, the IRS Complaint Form was developed with that thought in mind. It allows a person to report the abuses without becoming public record, thusly shielding the identity of the person filing the report.

These reports are kept by the IRS and the supposition is that if the IRS gets enough of these reports about a particular organization, their tax-exempt status might be in jeopardy.

Line 5 has a box that you can check if you are concerned that you might face retaliation if your identity is disclosed. The form is self-explanatory and should be used to report abusive practices to the IRS. You can download the form on at the link below:

The Power of Denial

Last month we discovered that Katsura Kan is conducting a student workshop in NYC. Upon hearing this news, we immediately sent the theatre that is hosting the workshop information and evidence about Kan's past manipulation and exploitation of his students. Their response was to threaten our organization with a lawsuit for libel, defamation, and harassment, opting to protect this evil sociopath rather than side with the facts and evidence to protect susceptible students from potential harm.

We also contacted the City of New York's Department of Cultural Affairs and the Department of Education to inform them of Katsura's workshop, both of whom were open to receiving and reviewing our information, and we look forward to hearing back from them.

This is what we are dealing with so often, in one simple word: denial; a denial which is causing so much needless suffering and damage to people's lives.

If they want to sue our organization that is of course their prerogative, but we are approved to bring awareness and to reveal the facts so that no other kids will be hurt by this predator and those like him. Moreover, we will continue to do so for as long as it takes to stop these wicked monsters from having their way.

Word of Faith Fellowship update... Word of Faith Fellowship update:

The WOFF church has lost some important funding from Brevard Jewish Community and Friends, as stated in an open letter to them,

“We have recently learned that several leaders within the Word of Faith church have been indicted on some very serious and very disturbing charges,” the letter said. “While we believe that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, we have also learned that there is a history of similar accusations involving this church. The abuse and persecution of anyone based on race, sexual orientation or religion is not acceptable to us.”

If you don't fight EVIL you empower them.

As per my information, seems as (UA) is making an effort to investigate all cult related allegations against them that took place on their campus. I only wish that Naropa University in Boulder Colorado would do the same. We have contacted Naropa for a meeting to discuss the death of my beloved daughter Sharoni Stern, which as per all documented facts was brought upon her by Naropa's so called teacher the "GURU" KATSURA KAN. Naropa's response was we are not interested, we heard enough from those people. Those people are Sharoni's parents who are grieving and will live with their pain of losing their child rest of their lives. I believe, Naropa was negligent by hiring Katsura Kan. I also believe and in my opinion Naropa's curriculum and the destructive teaching of Katsura Kan, which is well documented, brought the tragic death of my daughter. As per my opinion and my believe and some documented facts on related issues, Naropa's cult like behavior goes on since Naropa's foundation. All information about Naropa is well published on Internet and many books and detailed communication by past student.

As I always say; If you don't fight EVIL you empower them.

Tibor Stern, on behalf of the Sharoni Stern Estate.
